Individual Therapy

The Therapeutic Space: How I practice

My therapeutic practice is depth-oriented, relational, and deeply rooted in care, nurturance, and compassion. Grounded in experiential, relational, and humanistic psychotherapy, our work together may weave in somatics, feminist theory, mindfulness, systemic understanding, intuitive wisdom, and guidance from the natural world.

Together, we will walk a path toward remembering who you are at your core, tending to both the pain and beauty of being human, learning to trust your own knowing, finding greater connection with the body, deepening your relationships with yourself, others, and the earth, nourishing creativity and longing, and practicing embodied presence. This work is ultimately in service of cultivating more aliveness, courage, connection, authenticity, and joy in daily life.

My orientation toward psychotherapy is not traditional. It is creative, collaborative, relational, and intentionally disruptive of rigid power dynamics. It is deeply humanizing and depathologizing. Rather than focusing on fixing what is “wrong,” I see therapy as a space for partnering your humanity with curiosity, care, honesty, and compassion.

To me, therapy is both art and science, ritual and routine. It is also a practice that must acknowledge the limitations of Western psychology in fully tending to the individual and collective suffering we experience. I believe deeply in the innate wisdom and inner intelligence within each person, and I often think of therapy as a kind of mirror — one that slowly reflects what has always been there and what longs to grow deeper roots.

I work from a belief in liberation, dignity, and humanity for all people. I strive to move beyond overly individualistic models of therapy by making space for the ways systems, oppression, marginalization, trauma, and culture shape our lived experiences. I remain committed to my own ongoing unlearning, growth, and self-reflection, both personally and professionally.

My own decade-long experience in therapy has profoundly shaped the therapist and human I am today. I hold immense gratitude for the teachers, mentors, and therapists who have shown me what it means to be deeply witnessed, challenged, cared for, and human with another person.

In our work together, I may read passages from authors who inspire me, pull tarot cards, explore spirituality, discuss the impact of oppressive systems on our lives, encourage ritual and creativity, or turn toward nature as a source of wisdom and medicine. The body is central to everything we do together; it is our compass, and somatic therapy is an integral part of how I practice.

I see myself as a thought partner, guide, and companion in this work, someone who helps illuminate where light, possibility, and deeper understanding already exist within you. Our work together is collaborative and relational in nature, rooted in curiosity, authenticity, and the belief that healing happens through connection, presence, and learning to trust your own inner wisdom.

With gratitude to psychotherapist Karen Mills, whose words and way of being helped shape my understanding of this work.

Who I work well with:

I work especially well with artists, creatives, helpers, new therapists, and highly sensitive people. I’m drawn to working with those navigating grief, transition, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, loneliness, and the often tender questions of identity, meaning, and belonging.

Many of the people I work with are longing for a deeper relationship with themselves, a greater sense of presence, self-compassion, embodiment, authenticity, and aliveness. Some are seeking support in reconnecting with their bodies, deepening their self-expression, exploring the more hidden or complex parts of themselves, or uncovering a clearer sense of purpose and direction in their lives.

I also work well with adult children of alcoholics, people navigating existential questions, and those who often feel like they are carrying a lot internally while appearing “fine” on the outside.

I deeply value working with people who care about equity, liberation, connection, and the well-being of both people and the natural world. Many of my clients feel nourished by nature and are seeking ways to live more intentionally, sustainably, and in relationship with the earth.
