Get to know me…
I’m Nicole Jefferson. I am many things: a therapist, creator, dog mom, partner, runner, friend, lifelong learner, and someone deeply devoted to the natural world. I’m also a kid who moved around often, someone who learned early how to begin again, and someone who has spent much of life exploring what it means to belong.
I’m drawn to wild places, handmade things, deep conversations, local coffee shops, travel, strange and wonderful people, and moments that make us feel fully alive. I thrive in the balance of solitude and connection. Some of the things I love most are apothecaries, good puns, heart-to-hearts, forest service roads, music, laughter, poetry, wildflowers, walks through the trees, and wandering through local plant shops. Beneath it all, I’m naturally thoughtful, deeply feeling, wildly curious, and a little silly at my core.
Much of my childhood was spent moving from place to place. Growing up in an Army family shaped my relationship to connection, belonging, roots, and self-worth. I often felt unsure of who I was, constantly observing others in an attempt to fit in. At times, that sense of disconnection led to loneliness and a deep familiarity with endings and beginnings. It also led me toward running -one of the first places I found both grounding and freedom.
At the same time, moving taught me how to stay connected to my inner world. It taught me curiosity, adaptability, openness, and the courage to take risks to connect. It expanded my capacity to be with people different from me, to try new things, and to continually rediscover myself.
My familiarity with loneliness, disconnection, and searching for belonging is part of what cultivated my desire to be of service. I feel deeply honored to walk alongside others as they navigate grief, uncertainty, identity, relationships, healing, and the question so many of us carry: Where do I belong? I believe healing often begins when we feel seen, supported, and connected to ourselves, to others, and to the present moment.
I seek to bring authenticity, warmth, curiosity, and depth into all that I do. My personal work and my work in the world feel deeply intertwined, each continually shaping and informing the other. I remain in awe of the human experience — of our shared longings, our resilience, and what becomes possible when we move beyond the narrow stories we hold about ourselves and step into a fuller expression of who we are.
I’m devoted to supporting others in deepening their relationship with themselves, with others, and with the living world around them. Through my own journey, I’ve come to understand the importance of not doing it alone, of being witnessed and held in our becoming, and of staying connected to the body, the senses, and the earth as we move through life.
I live in Golden, Colorado, with my two rescue dogs. Golden is located on the ancestral and traditional homelands of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute peoples, who have stewarded and cared for these lands long before colonization and forced displacement. I hold deep gratitude and respect for the enduring presence, history, and cultures of these Indigenous communities, past and present.
